Nick Loque of Sinister Adventures recently announced that the release date of Razor Coast, an adventure for 3.5 D&D and Pathfinder, has been pushed back until January:
“…RC is in layout, but we have discovered a few problems that require us to give it some more editing as we go, and more importantly, we need to acquire a couple of maps that slipped through the cracks. All of this is my fault. I have never shepherded a project of this size before (written plenty, but this is my first go as a publisher and it is a rough ride). To be completely realistic, I don’t think the book will ship until January now, and it breaks my heart. I believe in this project and I know it is a fantastic book, but the continued delays have soured the most important people in Sinister’s existence: you, the fans. I deeply regret this…”
As someone who has tried to write and publish adventures as a one man band, under the banner of The Kyngdoms, I know how hard it is to keep a stream of products being released. I never even bothered pretending to have a schedule! I still have a few bits I’d like to release, but just no time to do them right now!
Personally I’m not bothered by the delay at all and from the preview that was recently sent out, albeit unedited, I am still really looking forward to the release. Besides, I would much rather that the product was delayed so that it can be as good as it can be, rather than rushed out just to fulfil a schedule.
Mind you, what Nick doesn’t tell us is when The Ebon Shroud will likely be released, since I’m assuming it will all be pushed back? But no matter. I just hope that Razor Coast is as a good as I’m hoping it is
